The best bang for the buck, if you can find one, is a German K98 that was captured and re-crested by the Yugos. NOT an M48 type, but a real, laminated-stock K98 with Yugo crest. There are quite a few around, they are easily distinguished from other 98s by the short handguard. Most will still have a Nazi eagle somewhere that the commies failed to grind off. (usually on front sight or on extractor ring on the bolt) They shoot the standard 8x57 ammo, but watch out - almost 100% of 8mm is corrosive. If you reload, there are plenty of available bullets.
Swedes are good, but the 98 action is much improved, IMHO. If you get a decent looking suplus 98, and it doesn't group as you think it should, try bedding it. Most are pretty oil-soaked, and may not fit as tight as they used to.
