When MO was going through the first try for CC, Silver Dollar City was in the forefront of the opposition, along with Hallmark in KC. Neither get my money anymore.
That's not surprising. I'm sure the NBA, as well as other professional sports organizations were opposed to it as well, including here in Oklahoma. You'll notice that in most states, arenas are considered a prohibited place ONLY when it is a professional sports arena. As long as they don't have a metal detector present, you can enter the BOK Center during a concert, etc...no problem. But you go there during a Oilers hockey game, it is prohibited. What's the difference?? Same with the OKC arena. Bottom line is, these amusement parks and professional sports teams have a lot of influence in these laws.
