I remember when I'd go to meet Steve for trades, we would always end up talking for a long time. I know he was very proud to be a moderator here and seemed to like everyone. He was a good guy.

I only got to meet Steve in person once. He and GC had done a deal on a Glock. He PM'd me and told me not to tell GC but he was gonna throw in a bunch of stuff to go with the gun because "that JBT's a pretty decent feller". This as AFTER he and GC and dickered back and forth and Steve had dropped the price a little.

He was the first person from OSA to take a check from me and we had a GREAT time with THAT afterwards. :) Anyway, a bunch of us got together for lunch that day and at the end of our visit I went to the car, let Jackie out so she could stretch her legs and wrote Steve his check -- for the original amount in the ad ...

I handed it to him -- He didn't even look at it. Stuck it in his pocket, I got my good-bye hugs and we all left. When GC and I got in the car I told him what I had done and that "that goofy Steve" didn't even look at the check. Said if I'd known he was gonna do that I would have written it for $5, just to see how long it took him to call ... :wink2:

A WEEK LATER I get a PM from Steve asking me where to send me some money because I had made a mistake. That he and GC had settled on a lesser price. We "argued" back and forth in PMs for a while but I never did take that "extra" money back and he teased me about it unmercifully.

And O.M.G. ... remember when you Fat Guys used to post that picture all the time?? The one he'd delete and then ban you for?? And then you'd come back and post it AGAIN!! Bless his heart ... You can't play around with just anybody like that! (I'd have KILT you guys!! :) )

Steve, my man, I miss you. My life is emptier knowing that you are not behind the scenes here laughing your arse off at the antics that IS OSA ... It will not be the same here without you, my friend.

I only got to meet him a couple of times, But before I meet him I got banned for "a not so good" reason and a mutual friend told him about it and he unbanned me, I was only off for a week after I was told it would be 90 days. He was truly a class act!! R I P Steve.

Going back and reading his posts is sad, but you only have to go back one page for a post that sums up what I remember about him here. Many great stories about the 4 subjects listed below (from a thread on tinnitus):

Had it for many years, guns, race cars, rock concerts and motorcycles have provided me with a lifetime of tinnitus.

From "Why do you love RidgeHunter?"

Because you amuse me and you stay just barely outside of banville.HAHAHAHAHA

:D

I can safely say I and many others would be permabanned if not for Steve. He always seemed to understand goofy crap on the internet was not serious, and he helped make this forum/community more fun.

It's not going to be the same at work! Steve was a great guy to be around. When he was around there was always laughter, jokes he usely was at the but of it but he always had a great come back. I'm really going to miss him there we like to have lunch together on Sundays. With s Steve there was endless conversations about everything. He will be missed.

Thank you Steve for fun times.
