What bullet were you using in the triple deuce? My uncle left me his when he passed away

Not sure was a buddys Savage bolt gun back in the 80's. Shot same gun and load back when hunting turkeys with rifle in the spring.

I’ve only killed about 10 deer, one with a .22 pistol, 7 with a .243, one with a 480 grain cast bullet over BP IN A .45-70, and one with a .45-70 factory Hornady 250 grain LeverEvolution. Never had a DRT, a couple never left a blood trail. All lung shots. Fortunately I found them all.

That shot will do it. It is also a shot usually only taken at closer ranges. Ive head shot several deer within range to keep them from getting to water/marsh or crossing a fence.
