Not sure what they're thinking with that. Ruger has been struggling to get their piece of the carry market for a while now. The SR series guns had some issues in the beginning but seemed to sell pretty well for a while. Then they discontinued the line. I've had to opportunity to shoot the Security 9. I think they would have had a winner with that one if they'd made it striker fired, but for some reason made it SAO. Then there is the American. I know a lot of people who have a lot of guns, but don't know a soul that has a Ruger American pistol. The only real success they've had in the CC market would seem to be the LCP line of pistols.

If I want a Glock, I'll just buy a Glock.

There actually seems to be a decent market for “custom factory Glock clones” where sales really seem to depend on how well they market it, and if any movie or video game deals exist where they are used. Most knowledgeable gun owners wouldn’t spend $4,000+ on a Taran Tactical Glock, but they still fetch top dollar on gun broker and such. I also remember when salient came out and while it was unheard of to drop 2-3k on a Glock, people were doing it. This is the first I’ve seen of a “semi custom” Glock for cheaper than an actual Glock, especially not having to use brownells or PSA parts to finish it.
Again, not my slice of pie, but if they market it right and get it all over YouTube, or offer some tactical super duper suppressed version, it’s much cheaper than the alternative Glock knock offs that start at $900+ and often require proprietary parts and optic plates that are never easily available.

For me, especially getting blue label pricing, I’m just going to get a Glock, but for retail to retail against a new Glock MOS pistol, adding even a cheap set of $50 blacked out or fiber sights, someone with minimal cash can save $300 and likely still go bang every time 😂

I ordered one yesterday. I like the idea of the chassis system. I like it on my sigs, echelons and berettas. It will be cool to have another one in the safe. Who knows if it will get much use, but I like modularity and I’m sure they will come out with a full size frame (17 round) to make it like a g45.

I wish Ruger success with this one. I have guns made by Ruger, and have never had any reason to be unhappy with any of them. My point was that in that market they've been like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. I'm not a Glock guy, although I do own exactly one, a G17. I make no argument that Glock's reliability and durability are second to none, they're just not my thing. I'm more of a M&P or P10C or P07 type of guy so I don't really have a dog in this hunt. It's just been sad to watch Ruger keep offering guns for the carry market that don't quite seem to take off. Maybe this one will.
