My Father was a U.S. Navy Photo Intelligenceman stationed at Cecil NAS.
He loaded film on spy planes, removed the exposed film, developed and interpreted the photos. Him and his men figured out that there was no sewer line construction being done, but “sewer pipe” shaped objects were being delivered by truck to an area where they had no business being.
He informed his boss that it looked like missiles. His boss informed his boss, who informed his boss, whose name is in the history books as the man who figured out about the Russian missiles in Cuba.
