I know there's some folks here that know Smith & Wesson wheelies, so I'm reaching out. My wife's grandfather left her some nice ones, but didn't get them until recently (will contested, long annoying story, smh). This looks like a 686 to me, but I think it's a bit older?
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks!

With the glossy bluing, checkered top strap and lazy ampersands all around, looks like a model 27 to me. If it's not a 27, it's a registered magnum. Same thing, just pre model number days (mid 1950s). Sadly, the original stocks have been replaced with Hogues. Nice grips, just not original.

Logo on right side of frame. S&W guys, pre 80-81, right?? I can never remember when they moved it.
