This new S&W .22 is probably a highly modified model 41. It has a hidden hammer same as a 41. The Ruger is striker fired. Sorry had a brain fart. I have a Mark III and I know that it has an internal hammer. From the litttle I read, I still think that the new S&W is a highly modified 41 type action, with the barrel changing ability of High Standard, although I don' know if they use the same method.

There is a difference in design.
In an earlier thread, Olyeller noticed that the ruger has the serial number on the barrel, and the SN on the Victory is on the lower.

Two different designs, but similar looks.
