Safes - how to move

What suggestions do you have for moving a safe into your home? About a 500 lb safe that I will be transporting in a pick up. Getting the safe out of the p/u bothers me. After that I suppose I can rent some dollies that will move the save on carpet?? Any suggestions?

Also, do you know of anyone that will deliver?

You might do a quick search and find your answer, but I hear cut PVC pipe works well.

I've seen them moved by people using several pieces of thick walled 4" pvc pipe.

Dont know anyone in Tulsa to move one. Put it on a thick blanket in the bed of the truck. Then transport.. Pull the blanket and the safe will slide out. have someone push aginst it while it slides off the tailgate so the bottom goes down and not out.. Then just stand that sucker up. then use a heavy duty dolly and move it where you want.
We just moved one a couple of days ago.

I've used the thick walled 2" stuff too. Just have 4 or 5 under it at a time.

Golf balls work pretty well on hard floors and will allow you to move the safe in any direction or even spin it 360, not sure how they work on carpet.

I don't have a pic of when i did mine. But i used a mini skidsteer and strapped to the forks and a pallet and drove on the trailer and then off and set it in the front entry way on a scrap piece of carpet and slid it where i wanted it all by myself. Not fun or easy but it worked. When are you wanting to do this?? I would be willing to bring my stuff over this weekend and save you sometime and headache. PM me if you want some help. =John. PS I have helped Honeybee move his large safe too. Maybe i should start moving safes on the side.
