George took us in 2008, we got 17gallons of Sand Plums. We also was introduced to one of the best Human Being I have ever met. George's not too bad either.lol

21lbs in an hour wasn't a bad haul! Think I'm just going to juice mine tonight and freeze it until I've got a bunch. Then just have one massive canning day. Seems like we canned every other day last year, and I got tired of washing canning supplies.

Every year I hear about sand plums. What are they? Yes I see pictures. Does one eat them off the tree? Or is jelly the only thing you can make? Where do I get jelly from? I never tried any before

Found west of I35 primarily.......they are very tart, even when ripe generally. They're not sweet like a regular plum.

My area would be quiet the drive for you. They are fairly numerous along county roads and open pasture areas. I would check Lexington, and Thunderbird Lake area before making an 90 mile drive.
