Thought I would ad to this old thread, I've been trying to get a bottle of Clynelish 14 year down and just can't manage it:

I don't know what it is about this stuff, but I hate it and it's more of a boutique scotch despite it's $40 price. It reminds me of Glenfiddich 15 year, another one that I can't stomach. I don't understand how I could like Oban, which is another highlands scotch and dislike this one, but I would say you need to try this one before you buy it.
