Scrap lead for casting

Has anyone purchased scrap lead or w/w for casting around Tulsa, lately? I've talked to a few tire shops but have had no luck there. Any recommendations?

Hit the small mom and pop/independet tire shops, donuts sodas or beer can help a lot.

Called a few scrap yards today for scrap lead prices. I thought I'd share their price quotes.

S&S Metals....... $0.80/lb
Beeline............. $0.50/lb

Is that $ 80 a pound ? Rotometals is only $2.80 a pound for hardball lead.

I get mine from tire shops. I just ask if they have some lead I can buy and most of the time they do.
I haven't paid .80 a pound for it,,,, yet.

Scrappers are paying good money for scrap lead, I wouldn't expect a business owner to give you a 5 gal. bucket of WW for $10-20 anymore.

Average scrapper price is around $0.50/lb. now.

I called around a month or go to see what they were paying for scrap pure lead and I had quotes from .30 to .50 a # to buy my lead. All materials are going up and up.
