Tyromeo55, did you end up selling your lead?
not really, I melted about just over 60# of it to clean it up and so it would be in convenient bars. It was a ton of work and a cuss or two when I'd burn myself so I lost interest in it. Too many projects really. I offered it to another member who was wanting some about a month ago and forgot about it. It's still sitting on the floor of my hobby room.
Yeah, its probably a little too warm to be melting lead down right now.
What am I missing? Why do tire shops have lead to sell?
Wheel weights. Against the law to re-use them IIRC.
Used lead wheel weights can be used to cast lead bullets. I haven't had much luck finding tire shops willing to sell their used wheel weights. Also, the days of lead wheel weights are coming to an end as they are replaced with zinc and steel weights.
Tried eyes and the dollar sign threw me .
