A guest on MSNBC suggested have bomb sniffing dogs screen customers in line, then pull the person out if the dogs hit on something. That makes scents but I don't know if their sniffer will get burnt out or how many dogs would be needed for XXX people. THey should also screen the baggage, match the baggage with the passenger list...if the baggage doesn't match, yank it off the plane. no more lost luggage. Mainly screen and run background checks on the folks behind the scenes. The unions probably wouldn't go for it though. If your going to put a bomb on a plane, steal a baggage handlers badge, distribute the explosives and shaggle.

I'm curious how much training the TSA goes through before being put 'on the line'. The TSA site didn't mention anything training or preemployment background or drug tests. Boortz was talking about a TSO guy that kidnapped a lady at the ATL airport, raped her, then attempted to kill himself after letting her go. Alot of other TSA employees doing crazy stuff also.

Here's a TSA movie Neal Boortz made.

Do you see any limits to what TSA should be able to do?

As long as we keep flying under the current conditions they will continue to advance the searches.

Bitching isn't going to change anything. Until we start demanding profiling, and start speaking with our wallets we'll get more of what we've have.

Americans had a huge chance to make a stance during the Thanksgiving travel season, but their selfish ambitions got the best of them and the protest never developed.

The Israelis have the correct answer to this problem.

Too bad profiling offends the delicate sensitivities of so many here in the States. Personally I would much prefer having a little talk with a well-trained TSA agent than I would being felt up by a poorly trained one ... As always though YMMV ...

Yes they do.... It's called profiling. An 80 year old great grandma gets screened while people with known ties to terrorist walk through..

I blame Congress. They're in the drivers seat. Congress is being very two-faced about it and is happy to let TSA take the heat while Congress pretends to be concerned and cracking down on TSA to improve the situation.

A dogs sniffer does not wear out until the dog is way past its prime.
I currently run Britany's for bird dogs, and in the past ran Beagles as Trail hounds on rabbits.
Its amazing that a beagle can cross a rabbit track at full run, turn on a dime, get on the track in one direction and determine within a yard or two which direction the rabbit is running.
the britt can do the same with a pheasant or quail.

Last time I was in an airport in Fla., they used beagles to sniff passenger bags for illegal fruit and veggies coming into the country.

Currently they are training dogs to sniff for cancer in humans.
I can't put a link on here for the test, but, I read that the dogs were more sucessful smelling out certain types of cancer than a battery of modern testing.
Now, with that knowledge in mind, why don't we use dogs to do the job??
Not one terrorist has been caught in the TSA screening process.
I can just imagine some high level terrorist commander, telling some gullible suicide bomber that putting some tnt in his rectum to take out a plane, knowing he will be caught.
What does this say?
It is just like the underwear bomber. It will cost our economy billions of dollars to try to detect this type of weapon. Next year it will be something else.
The ********* that run our security will do something else stupid like requiring full naked checks, and cavity searches, then the terrorist will do something else.....Its a never ending cycle.
The terrorist have alread said two years ago, that their target is the American economy.
They will win with our stupidity.....
This will do nothing more than bankrupt the airline business. The terrorist have scored. What will they target next?
By the way, Does any of us old timers tie any of this in with the Vietnam war and the way it was ran?

Lyndon Johnson and Macnamera ran that war from the white house. Targets for bombing were determined in weekly meetings with NO military personell involved, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Some of the bombing flights were over foreign countries, requiring our military to record a flight pattern that was quickly related to the NVA.
They were more concerned with maintaining the "economic" side of the war, wasting thousands of American lives.

Are we just supporting another government business(tsa) ran by a brother in law of some polititian??
