I am installing RV hookups at my 'hideout'.......myself. I am using a plastic Septic tank and the Chamber type lateral. Have watched a lot of Youtube stuff but have never seen anything as to the height of pipe entering and leaving the tank ( same height or is the exit slighly lower than the inlet ?). I will be using 4" PVC 'Ys" as baffles inside the tank but have never seen anything as to how far down inside the tank to put the verticle portion of the baffle.

Outlet 3" below inlet is all I've ever seen.

Typically you want the exit pipe to be in the top of the "clear water" area under the "scum layer." You also want the lateral lines to have a slight incline downhill. The lateral lines should not be buried any deeper than they have to be to fit everything underground.

You want a 2 degree decline per running foot of pipe from the effluent outlet going to the lateral field.

Our septic system has been in the ground since the 90's on semi sandy soil.
The inlet certainly needs to be higher than the outlet to facilitate flow.
The Aerobic systems use pumps, but the old time septic systems use volume of water and time to let everything dissolve before it eventually goes out into the leach field.
I installed a 50 amp system next to the shop for our RV and have been thinking about a dump station for it when friends visit in their RV's.
Rent an excavator, dig the holes and use a series of plastic 55 gallon drums to get the solids into liquids before a small leach field. YouTube is full of plans for doing the same.
