Got it three summers ago, August. Across a band of nerves in my chest, blisters, rash, burning for a week. Dr. prescribed me a big horse pill a day and some pain meds. Taking a shower was interesting, when the water hit the hot spot, felt like needles stabbing me. Caused me to soap up, rinse off and get the hell out, quick. Year or so later, took the Shringrix ***, then six months later a booster. I was 61 years old, about to turn 62 and retired. A little gift from an old chicken pox bout as a kid. Don’t remember it, but it remembered me. No reoccurence so far.

I never knew shingles could be so painful in locations other than the blistering site itself. Doctor said I have the classic symptoms and gave me an Rx for a dark blue horsepill to take three times a day. It will kill the virus in six to seven days. I'm off work on complete rest for a week, possibly two.

It takes 72 hours to incubate into shigles. I did not get the shots because I could not afford them at $300 a pop. and there were two of them pre covid. Then no one was open to give the shots, then they were $600 ea.

Get the shots! Doc said the shots, unlike COVID, are 95% effective at preventing Shingles and again reducing the severity if you get it.
I highly suspect this relates to the feel bad you had this weekend . I am a advocate for natural goods . Get on YouTube and search shingles, then watch Dr Berg and motivational Doc, which is Doc Mandel. While it's not going to get you back to work tomorrow you stand a fair chance of learning something. Best to ya blue snake.😎

My wife is just getting over her first bout with Shingles. Spent two days in the hospital on IV antibiotics as it was forming around her eye. It actually was swollen shut. Thank the Good Lord, the antibiotics worked, unfortunately they gave her sever GI issues and she is just now going back to work tomorrow. (She works for one of the big Hospital Groups and they would not let her come to work until completely healed.) Thankfully they have good short term disability.
Prayers you get over it quickly

Yep had em just below my shoulder blade back when I was around 21 working in Kmart warehouse. Feels like rugburn x10. Even a fan blowing on it was painfull. Doc wouldn't prescribe anything due to it being on its way out after crusting over and all.
As far as the gout, I heard black cherry juice helps, but no personal experience. Couldn't hurt to try.

Wow! You would have been a great defective! :bolt:

Yeah, it was entirely related to the feel bad. The doc gave me a letter saying no workee no laundry for a week, maybe two.
