I wonder if there's anything in the small print of the new NY rules that would prohibit a FFL guy from transferring "Assault weapons" out of state, essentially freezing the assets of the owner and making them illegal at the same time?

Is there any reason an Oklahoma FFL couldn't legally receive a firearm shipped here from NY state and transfer that firearm to an individual here for storage?

A friend of mine's husband is in the army and about to deploy, and I've offered to store their gear until they're out of NY or whenever.

I suppose, here, it goes without saying what an injustice they're suffering. Thanks, y'all.

I might be mistaken, but I think that it is perfectly legal for someone to send THEMSELVES their firearms in another state.

For instance, if your friend decided to take a small vacation and wanted to go shooting on your property, he can ship his stuff to himself at your address.

I don't think anything says he has to ship it back to himself.

Another forum was discussing setting things up where NY forum members could mail other members in the currently Free America their higher than 7 round mags, and keeping them for them until the could make a move out of the state. Once settled elsewhere, the mag holders would ship them back their stuff.
