Well, I went and checked. I had the heater seat at 50 and low range “7500watts” instead of high range “10kwatts”

Flipped the breaker and slowly the lights went out and let sit a minute.
Flipped breaker on and it reset it to 65* and high range “10kwatt”

And it came on as the shop was 60*.

So I did a second test. I flipped breaker this time with it running trying to get to the 65* it had reset at.

I reset the minimum temperature back to 50* and it went into the heat off but fan running for 3 minutes to cool off mode, as the manual said it would.

Let it sit a minute or so and flipped breaker and once again it came back on and had reset itself to 65* and on high 10kwatt once again.
TY! So it seems to have a default and DOES come back on just not where it was set when the power went off. I'll need to check ours next weekend because if it'll do something similar then no need for me to buy another heater and switch.

I wish mine would reset that low, it defaults to 78*. My normal setting is 65* in the winter months, and if cold I burn the fireplace to warm things up.

This is a Vevor it sets from 45* to 99*. 10000 watt 17500 btu for a 1000sq ft.

What brand is yours? I am pretty sure I can add battery source to keep the setting at whatever I want. I May piddle with doing that soon.

I have nat gas heat that will keep shop from freezing, but it puts way to much moisture in the shop. That is why I like wood and added the electric heater.

Keebar 10000 watt, 24590 btu for 1000sq ft. Haven't thought about battery backup, that may be possible to keep digital thermostat powered in case of power outage.🤔
