Shortened my 870 barrel

I looked for some cold blue, but didn't find it at walmart or home depot.

For the guys a little nervous, just make sure you leave yourself enough room for your finishing work. I made my cut at 20" and when I got done with the finishing (grinding, filing, sanding) I ended up right at 18 3/4".

so you grind filed and sanded another 1 3/4" off

After the grinding and filing she ended up at a shade over 18 3/4".

That's just about 23/32nds" too long! Looks good, j/k.

lol, I would be terrified just to have it, I would mull it over for a few days get paranoid and end up taking a torch to it and throwing it in the pond.

It looks good, Ive tossed around the idea of doing that to my 870 but I cant work up the nerve to do it.

If you are too paranoid to do it yourself, I only charge $35 to do it and cold blue the end, I also polish the inside of the barrel while I have it off.
