Should sight be a requirement for legal carry?

Prior to my cataract surgery, my vision was 20-400. According to "some," particularly one optometrist that I spoke with, I was "legally" blind. I could not make out faces at a distance beyond, say 30 yards or so, but I could certainly see the individuals and could have been capable or aiming a firearm at them and hitting them. Without knowing the actual extent of the "blind guy's" visual capabilities, I'd hate to judge that he was blind. Now, if he was wearing the shades and carrying the white cane, that could be another issue.

Blind people are many times made into victims because of their handicap. I do not want to restrict a vulnerable persons right to defend themselves in any way.
