I bought a smoker a few weeks ago, so far I haven't quite mastered it. But I was wondering does your smoker smell kinda funky? I'll be out on the patio playin with the dog and I can almost smell that BBQ smell buts its a little funky too. I'm sure its normal but ya never know, i've been known to screw a few things up.

Any ideas on what I should smoke next? I've done ribs a few times and a few chicken breasts. I wanna do brisket but thats alot of meat for just me and the wife.

I smoked for over 40 years. 2 packs a day. I quit 2 years ago. It wasn't easy but it was doable. The trick is attitude. Without the proper attitude you're doomed to fail. I used the patch and it helped. At least I think it did.

What wood are you smoking with? I like Pecan, Cherry, and Apple, sometimes Hickory. You can get smaller briskets too.

Try these
Pork Loin
Meat loaf
Bologna
Bratwurst
Sausage
Salmon

I got a Brinkman electric smoker. I like it alot. Its simple and easy to use. I have used hickory and mesquite wood so far. I figured out that wood chips are not the way to go, pain in the butt. Chunks work so much better.

I'll make a prediction that once you learn the ropes and really get into smokin' that you'll decide you don't like the Brinkman at all.

They're practically grills. The electric element puts out way too much heat and if you follow the instructions that come with it and do the wet smoke thing in my experience the meat comes out all slimy. UYYYYYYKKKK!

I had a Brinkman for a while. Now I've a Weber.

Bologna in a smoker is purty darn tasty. Ribs, Brisket, and Chicken are always good. Pork loin is pretty darn good too. Alot of times when we smoked chicken, when we put it in foil we would throw in some veggies (peppers mostly) for flavor. Granted it is my roommate who does most of the work, I normally just stand back and drink beer :)
