That's a pretty good read. A little LONG but worthy of reading nonetheless. ;)

I've always said that I considered +P ammo to be a waste of time and money. I think a standard .38 Special load, especially in a "get off me gun" like the ever popular snubbie, is sufficient.

If I were still totin' a K frame on duty, I MIGHT stoke it with +P ammo. I dunno. :rolleyes2

158gr SWCHP+P will work when others fail. For serious social encounters its whats for dinner for the BG that looks at me as his ticket to fame. For my 3913 I have Winchester Ranger 129gr +P+ for the same game. In my 4566 I have 230gr Hydra-shocks, even if it fails to expand its still .45cal.

I still have about 150rds of 158gr Nyclad HP for my J's also.

don't blame me! its not my fault that you can't handle addictions.btw put some crimson trace on the model 37 last night.thats darn cool.snubs need lasers!

Man ain't that the truth. Modern guns are cool and all but these with a history are like nice, tasty Crack. Looking forward to trying out the laser on the 37.

GED and LDP want to have a "drool over old Smiths" meet-up. I'm in. You in?

I already showed this to flatwins, so here it is for the rest. This is the original J-Frame Pre-36 Chief's Special. This one is very early probably first year production. It is a transitional I-to-J Frame 5 screw .38spl. Note the size of the trigger guard, and the size of the grips/grip frame.
