The whole basis of the thead was the fact that I thought this guy was a flaming girl scout pansy because he called the cops on a minor, single hand slap to the back.

You must also consider that he very well could have (definitely should have) called the cops to protect himself from possible false allegations.
I mean, it was obviously a volatile issue that had already turned violent.I've seen and/or personally been through it far too many times...

This actually happened to me this past spring, while going through a divorce the ex calls me over to pick up stuff and discuss the separation of items after I leave she calls cops and files rape charges...BTW, she was the one cheating NOT me so that was a double nut slap for me!

IMO you should immediately abandon the whole "tiny little slap" argument.
The cops generally look primarily for physical marking when making these types of determinations...and there were marks...clear indicators of physical violence.

Physical signs are generally the determining factor when making an arrest in a A&B case, so that had to be some slap!
