Sorry but 75% of atheist I know claim not to believe in God just so they can be an a$$. Most spend their time trying to convince people that God does not exist and that they are stupid for believing in God. The rest of the time they are trying to ban Christmas displays, etc instead of just not paying attention to them.
And yes I know about Muslim beliefs. I have known many and had some interesting discussions with them. On the whole I found them to be no worse than Christians, just different beliefs about some things, and I do not think they have not advanced as much as many other religions.

Personally I do not believe in religion but I do believe in God. I do not feel any one religion has it all right and most are trying to push their ideas onto others instead of trying to lead by example. That said I have known good and bad people in all faiths and beliefs no matter if Muslin, Jewish, Hindu, Christain or the flying spaghetti monster.
Oh, I certainly know the type you were referring to. The only reason I label myself as agnostic is because my brain doesn't really have the capacity for faith. I tried really hard as a kid up through high school and certainly feel no bitterness toward religion or people of faith unless it is being used negatively or for personal gain. I truly value the lessons and guidelines set forth by most religions and believe they are an amazing glue to hold a healthy society together. My great aunt was the most devout woman I have ever known and genuinely the most Christ like person I can recall ever knowing and I have always been genuinely jealous of her conviction. There would be so much less worry if I could see the world through her lenses, but I cannot.

So, I choose to live my non-religious life in a way that she would at least be proud of the impact I have on the people around me. I also truly believe the little things become huge things when you do them for a complete stranger.

I see the atheists you refer to the same as a lot of alphabet gender group running around now. They have no real merit in society so they create some made up trait they then try to convince the rest of us makes them superior to us. I cannot imagine ever going out of my way to make someone feel less fulfilled and happy unless those things came at the expense of another. Life is too short and too hard on its own to go around acting like that and trying to make it even harder for the people around us.

Went to Walmart today for my meds and stuff. Even wore my Christmas shirt as I wanted a Tee to go with it. As we were leaving some waste of human flesh walks up to the Salvation Army kettle and pours his soda into it. Right in front of several people including the bell ringer! I get some people do not like Christmas, the Salvation Army, etc, etc, but if you do not like it, just ignore it.
I ignore a lot of stuff that makes me want to tear it down, take a wiz on it, or just totally lose it and beat someone to death. If I can do that with my temper, anybody can. Why do people have to be such azzes? Can we not just live and let live? Wife thinks the guy was Muslim, I would bet good money he is an atheist. They are the only people I know t6hat go out of their way to ruin it for others.

Ok rant over. I hope everyone has a wonderful day, except that one guy who needs to have an accident and they have to remove his tally-wacker.
LEFTWINGNUTS, preach tolerance of others, as long as the others agree with them, 100%! Nazis did that, didn't they?

Unfortunately as one who carries consistently I would need to take a pass on saying anything. My philosophy is avoid conflict unless facing deadly force. Hope no one thinks I would be a wuss (would use the p word ending in y normally).
Nope, you're being smart.

When I was in Kiwanis I rang the bell every year. I never experienced anything like that. It was 30+ years ago. It wouldn't have ended well for the offender had it happened on my shift. Times have changed, and so have I.
I know! I have discovered several things I can no longer do, due to old age. I usually figure these things out when I attempt to do them! I still have situations occasionally where I call somone down in public for using foul language, in the presents of women, and kids,, a just acting like a total jerk like this punk, just to wonder if fighting is one of the things I can no longer do? Luckely so far I havn't had to find out!!
