Why these people are taken and left in a jail, and not taken to TBH or similar, is beyond me. He was booked on a complaint of obstructing/interfering with an officer due to his erratic behavior. It sounds like he genuinely needed help, not to await a hearing and subsequently kill himself whilst being ignored.

About a million years ago I worked nights as an aid on a psych ward in Norman to put myself through college. It's astonishingly easy to descend into an us vs. them mentality. It really takes a conscious effort to avoid. I bet MyMonkey knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Longer ago, (dinosaurs were still dying) I was an interviewer/hiring guy at OU. My assistant and I sent many students out to Griffin to acts as aides.

Several of them later told me the same thing. Another scary thing was that several of them came back looking for work after developing mental problems themselves. We formed a theory that mental illness might be a communicable disease...

This story is a real life mirror of the current "American Horror Story" series that is set in the 60s and has supernatural overtones, though the curent Tulsa event appears all too real--nothing supernatural here, just good old inhumanity.

I would caution everyone to let this shake out before drawing final conclusions, but what is there so far looks bad.
