Expired dates on cans mean that that is the peak of their flavor, not when they go bad.I have a can of spam with two different expiration dates.

The only expiration date required by law is on baby food.
You can eat canned food years past those dates without any chance of harm. If the can is swollen, or the top is swollen, throw it out. Otherwise eat away.
We ate green beans in a can from 2022 the other day and they were fine.
It pisses me off every year when the postal service has their food collection drive. The first thing they do is throw away everything past the date on the can even if it's one day.
They brag about it.
