Just sold my saiga, so now I'm shotgunless. I was intending on getting a pump, but now I've got a dilemma: Do I really need a shotgun?

I like shooting clays, but I haven't done so in over a year. I'd like to go turkey hunting some day, but probably won't have time for several more years. However, I feel like every man needs a shotgun, and a gun for $400 seems like a better deal than an optic.

So now that I have ~$400 to spend, do I buy a Mossberg 500, or an Aimpoint PRO?

I voted Aimpoint, but there's a Mossberg 500A kit with two barrels in the classifieds right now for $350. I don't particularly like (or dislike) Mossberg shotties, but that seems like a pretty good deal if you're looking for one right now...

I like my old and cheap savage stevens 12 gauges.
I also turkey hunt,, but i wait till fall turkey season and pick them off with my .308 or 30-06.

This is a good point. I cheaped out with a Maverick 88 before I had my saiga, and was dissappointed, but a nice optic for my AR and a budget shotgun would probably be a better combo than a nicer shotgun and a budget optic.
