Checked our persimmon trees today. Spoons in the seed according to the old timers say it’s going to be a wet and cold winter.

Weather folks are predicting our first snow sometime between thanksgiving and Christmas, thats pretty vague, I am guessing a week or so after Thanksgiving we will get our first snow.

When I was a teen i remember during deer gun season we would almost always get a freeze or ice storm roll in.
Everything I have heard and read says it is gonna be wet and cold. Persimmons don't lie, as my PaPa use to say, now I believe it.

Yeah, I was wondering what the spork meant. It was kinda looking like the persimmons had gone the way of the tv weather guys. Throw everything up and something will be right when it hits the floor.
I wouldn't mind if the wet started today.
