It's like those cranes couldn't find their way to wherever they were headed so Putin had to "lead them on their migration route".

Like him or not, Putin shows to be a real leader, and is masculine. Obama comes across as feminine and weak. And as for the Syrian situation, Putin shows to be using much better judgement than our "leader".
