Just because things could be a lot worse, doesn't mean they aren't bad. We've reached a point in this country where half of the nation supports a man who campaigns for president on the basis of class warfare, wealth redistribution, "revenge" politics, and encouraging government dependency.

I stand by my statement that our country now has more in common with Russia than with what the Founders envisioned.

All this talk is interesting and all but nothing will happen without some serious blood being spilled.
Will it come to that? I don't know.
Which side would you go with? Both sides are Americans? Some make the statement that they love The United States.
But it seems to be coming apart at the seams.

I hope it doesn't come to that, but that gun your carrying might be more than just a bulge in your pants.

I don't even know which side I would fall out on, but stuff like this can get real....real fast.

On a less serious note, I would think Obama would be quick to allow Texas to leave the Union due to the number of electoral votes it puts in the Republican column every four years.

Texas is over 84,000.

For perspective, 84,000 is still less than half the population of Lubbock Texas (which was at one time the second most religiously conservative city in the US*). So far not even half of the conservatives feel it's a good idea.

*that stat may have changed a bit, but i bet Lubbock is still right near the top

Texas seceding is a pipe dream and most Texans who are beating their chests about it are full of sh$t. This secession talk is just more internet masturbation...(the same as most of our resident die-hard constitutionalists who do little more than start multiple posts about it)

Not to mention the fact that you don't have to be a Texan to sign the petition.
There are bound to be plenty of other Americans out there just saying "Go Galt cry babies and good riddance."
