Yeah, I remember that and those huge Mother Earth News catalogs and the Herter's catalog. Lots of dreams around that Herter's.

I was at a gun show a long time ago looking at this book, and another about converting an AR to full auto, when it dawned on me that somebody from ATF was probably taking notes on who read/bought these sort of books.

I ran across an ARMY Surplus store that was selling little books that had instructions & illustrations on how to convert rifles to FA, (AR, AK & SKS) and I had the same thought. I'll bet someone gets followed home when they buy one of those. LOL

Each of the books had the same paragraph on page one that was filled with legal speak that translated into: this is for informational purposes only, FA conversion is unsafe and against the law.
