Have tee...."Never saw myself becoming that grouchy old man....and, here I am killing it." I now understand why some species eat their young......The world moves. The old folks before us were uncomfortable with some of those changes. Now that we are the old folks we are uncomfortable with some of the changes we see happening. When today's kids are old folks they will be uncomfortable with changes they see happening. I'm starting to think EVERYONE has "Get off my lawn" moments -- not just old white guys.
My niece was working for the Tulsa Hills Chick-fil-A during the Rona times, and she said their management team was seriously considering not reopening the dining room after the lockdown ended because they were making bank on the drive-thru traffic. As I recall, they were some of their highest-profit months ('til then) in the history of the store.Probably cheaper as far as health codes, not having a dining area. Fewer employees.
I saw myself becoming a grouchy old man when I was in my 30’s, so I’ve been practicing for 20 years and am really good at it.Have tee...."Never saw myself becoming that grouchy old man....and, here I am killing it." I now understand why some species eat their young......
Yep. NOBODY but us Boomers (and maybe a few Millennials ) cook anything at home any longer. And we wonder why all our kids and grandkids are sick and unhealthy ... (Not anyone in particular -- just generally speaking about society. In general. In case you missed that part, just generally.I saw myself becoming a grouchy old man when I was in my 30’s, so I’ve been practicing for 20 years and am really good at it.
My daughter’s Jeep has been in the shop for a couple days, and I just got back from taking her to pick it up. I don’t go “into” town that often, but I just drove down the main drag and was shocked at how many people were in line on Saturday morning at fast food joints picking up breakfast (presumably).
I used to be more willing to eat out, but as I’ve gotten older, I’m more concerned about getting “value” out of my money. I’m absolutely not afraid to spend ridiculous amounts of money IF it’s for something of value, but to me, restaurant food isn’t that.Yep. OMG! I am the same. Twenty minutes after I noticed Snoop licking his paw and saw the swelling between his toes we were at the vet getting him fixed up. Grumpy is over here whining because I won't take him to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. I'm not spending $75 on lunch!! We have stuff for sammiches here. AND I only have to deal with ONE ******* if we stay home. Out in the wild there are a bazillion assholes out there.I used to be more willing to eat out, but as I’ve gotten older, I’m more concerned about getting “value” out of my money. I just spent $50 at TSC on mineral and salt blocks for my cows and a bag of cat food, but there’s no way in hell I’d stop at Dutch Bros or Starbucks for a $6 cup of coffee.
It also is a logical progression to automated food production and self-service ordering, which you can guarantee is coming with a massively bloated minimum wage.Probably cheaper as far as health codes, not having a dining area. Fewer employees.
Fewer fights like happens in blue cities.
