I heard it mentioned that they have basically ignored it at this point, not taking up the case but not dismissing it either. I'll try finding an article.

I've seen that article on another site this morning; it says "The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld the bans on semiautomatic weapons and large-capacity magazines"; it makes it sound like ALL semiautomatic firearms are banned.
That's about as accurate reporting as saying since old Ford Pintos sometimes caught fire when rear-ended, that cars catch fire when rear-ended.

Sloppy reporting chaps my a**.
