This is the same petulant technocracy that we all see in local school boards. "If you don't vote for this bond increase where we're using capital bonds for maintenance expenses, we'll cut all the teachers and your kids will be in huge classrooms with no attention." And the frantic soccer moms rush to the polls and pass the bond, not caring that it's another debt which will never be repaid.

Yeah but (and I know you already know this, so this is more just rhetorical):
1. There is no budget
2. They haven't cut anything other than the amount above what they were planning on spending last year (we're still spending, we're still spending more than last year, and we're still going deep into debt).
3. Both Republicans and Democrats continue throwing mud instead of pointing out where they want the cuts to be (because that might affect their collective careers).
Right, "recently;" not soon (?) after Moon died.
