Saw surfers going out in those 40 foot waves on a news clip this evening.

Nothing new. I was stationed at the old Ft Ord back in 1982 and I remember a storm that had massive waves and wiped out a couple piers along the coast. California gets a good deluge every once in a while and it's not about some global warming thing.
