Tough decision. Its going to cause some issues.......Ford or Chevy

So with the new job I will be starting on the 2nd I get a new company vehicle. My choice hinges on Ford or Chevy. FX4 or Z71. Let me say. I'm a Ford man through and through. But damn the new 2014 Chevy's are looking pretty good.

One main reason I'm looking at the Chevy's is the seats. Chevy has Ford beat on seats(unless they regressed for the 2014 model).

Anyone test drive a new Chevy yet? Thoughts?

Not sure how anyone can say the new Gub'ment Motors trucks are good looking? I saw one on the road the other day and thought there should be a lot of people in their design department that needs to get fire. There's not one single thing about a Chevy truck that's says "wow, I want to buy this truck" IMO given that fact that yours is being provided, I'd say there's nothing that says ...."wow, I want to be given this truck over a Ford"
Given numerous reasons to choose a truck, I also find it odd that "seats " is a "Main reason" to make into a deciding factor. Different strokes for different folks I guess. And not having to actually but the truck makes deciding factors a bit screwy I guess.

Chevy is still years behind Ford and RAM. Their new updates barely even really caught them up.

Out of the two I'd choose the FORD hands down, no question.

However, I'm not gonna fault you too much for longing for another brand....even if its a Chevy in the discussion. After 20 years of being an almost militant Ford truck owner, :) I've recently made my next "keeper" a RAM. Looks, style, magnificent engine, features, options, gearing, interior, value.....unfortunately Ford couldn't touch it and Chevy can't even sniff it. So change can happen but I'm not sure how any Ford man can jump to Chevy in its current rendition?

For the record I have never bought a new pickup truck. Suv's yes but no trucks. My friend got a 2012 tundra platinum, sweet truck! I have owned a 97 dodge ram 1500, and now have an01 Chevy 2500hd with the 6.0 liter. Quad cab etc. I love this truck! However if I was to buy a new truck it would have to be an f250!!

I do have one question, are you spending your own money on this, or are these the only 2 trucks your company will purchase? If its your money, you would do yourself a great disservice by not testing ALL THE TRUCKS. When I was looking at trucks, I threw brand loyalty out of the window. I wiped my mind clear of preconceived notions, and went and looked at ford, Chevy, Nissan, dodge and Toyota. I had a set list of items I wanted on the truck, and searched the Internet forums of each brand to find out what the owners of those trucks thought. I will say that I've always thought of dodge/Chrysler products as the lowest on the totem pole. I now reserve that spot for GM, and not just because of the bailout. I think GM is just surviving on its name and old reputation. If you haven't driven the Tundra, you really should, if nothing else than to just get a different prospective.

By the way, the Eco boost is more expensive then the 302 ( last time I checked), gets about 1 mile a gallon better mpg, and it would take you 8 years of saving on gas with the Eco boost to offset the added cost over the 302. So the Eco boost is really only going to save you money if you plan on keeping the truck for like 10 years. Plus, have you heard how that 302 purrs?!?!?!?!

Plus do you really trust a tuned up, twin turboed, v6 to last over a conventional v-8?

I have an Ecco-boost crew cab and use it like a sedan. I really like it for that purpose, how ever if I had to tow or carry a load very much it would not work for me.

You didn,t say what your new job is, but if it includes hauling or towing, a 3/4 ton of any brand will do a better job. I discovered the hard way, that trying to make a light duty truck do the work of a heavy duty will cost a lot of money and make you very unhappy.
