By the way, the Eco boost is more expensive then the 302 ( last time I checked), gets about 1 mile a gallon better mpg, and it would take you 8 years of saving on gas with the Eco boost to offset the added cost over the 302. So the Eco boost is really only going to save you money if you plan on keeping the truck for like 10 years. Plus, have you heard how that 302 purrs?!?!?!?!

I've never had the privilege of hearing one of them purr. They've always been way to far behind my Ecoboost to hear them. LOL!

The seats in the Platinum or Lariat Limited are probably the best truck seats I've ever sat in. They are noticebaly better than my dad's XLT. I can't comment on the lower trim levels as I've never sat in them.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Ford has taken government loans:

Although Ford did not need money from the $80 billion bailout program, Ford did receive $5.9 billion in government loans in 2009 to retool its manufacturing plants to produce more fuel-efficient cars, and the company lobbied for and benefited from the cash-for-clunkers program — contrary to the ad’s testimonial that Ford is “standing on their own.”

I don't have a problem with a company asking for money to retool a manufacturing plant to make a product the government is forcing them to make. If the .gov fools would stop forcing car companies to make more efficient vehicles and constantly changing the rules, they would stop asking for money to build them. Let the market decide what efficiency they want.

And I don't recall Ford going through bankruptcy on the tax payers dime.. I also remember the Feds forcing banks to take bailout money when they didn't need it nor want it.

Ford, just bought a new FX4 with the souped up V6. Absolutely love it, getting 21-22 on highway and seems to have as much/more power than the 10' FX4 V8 that I traded in for it! Also helps that I'm getting 6-7 mpg better!

Mine has been much better than my old 2010 FX4 V8. Was getting 15-16 with it, my new Eco Boost giving me 20 for sure, 22 if I granny plus cruise.

Jus FWIW, I pulled an 8 foot harrow through virgin pasture today overgrown with Stinging nettles and goat heads to make a new plot. ran the F-250 in 4X4 and spent several hours working my 'fancy' truck hard. Hell, thats hard work for a farmall. She didn't so much as blink an eye the entire time. I'm now ready for first splash of round-up on nice, clean, level ground. Gonna do it all again tomorrow for a second plot.

Don't know that anyone could get me away from Ford trucks after seeing the punishmnet mine took today.

We tried pulling it with an older Silverado (04 I think). there was just no way it was happening. hooked it back up to my truck and off we went. weights and all.

Damn fine truck. Damn fine.

Couldn't make it today but will go pick my truck up on Monday. 13' FX4 5.0L Oxford White, Black leather. Navigation, sunroof, NO FREAKING TAILGATE STEP. 18" wheels.

I found this one up in Guthrie

I went and drove another FX4 today and took my son. He was upset and crying when I said we weren't leaving with the truck we drove. he got over it.

My first stop on Tuesday will be to Linex. Will get the hold in the bumper filled with a Warn winch and hidden winch mount soon enough. Change the tires out to some BFG's at some point. Only thing left is to drive the piss out of it for years to come.

There will come a time when I will change my opinion on that tailgate step. By then they will redesign the handle to be flush. I use the tailgate as a work surface far to often. the step limits that use in my book.

Plus do you really trust a tuned up, twin turboed, v6 to last over a conventional v-8?

I'll just leave this here. Watch the whole series, it's amazing! Particularly the first one where they torture the thing on the dyno. Having worked extensively with aluminum, the engineering that went into the block and head castings is just awesome. I never thought it would be possible to design an engine to withstand the kind of thermal shock that they put that thing through. And those turbo's bearings are of course oil lubricated from the engine sump AND water cooled. My money is that they will last just fine.
