I will share this with you hunters again.
I was waiting for a deer to show up and I seen a pair of raccoons 230 yards out walking at a good pace and I took a shot and hit one of them and it left a nice blood trail but it went off into a deep and wide dry creek and I lost it.
Most likely went in a hole I did not find.

Buddy showed up maybe 20 minutes later and I look for the blood trail that I just followed.
It was Gone!
I noticed on 1 fallen leaf a lot of small ants and i remember that leaf if you could imagine that as it had a lot of blood on it .

The blood was gone but under the leaf were more ants and a tiny amount of blood.
My buddy did not believe that I hit anything.

Those ants made short work of a tasty meal.
This was in Tecumseh.

Was it the dry weather we had that made the ants clean the blood trail?

Remember this story.

If you let the shot critter sleep off the shot and then go look for it you may not find blood if something ate it all.
