Sweet Baby Jesus, could this be any more awful? My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved and their families. This is just tragic.

It happened because of horrible planning and lack of communication. One story I read said that parade organizers "checked the train schedule and there wasn't supposed to be a train until 7:00 PM." There should have been a cop at the crossing watching for train traffic who could then control the parade.
A couple of these guys were bros of some of my bros. I hate this for them all.
