What a horrible thing to happen. It seems there are some people that are heroes to the end. My heart and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who perished.

USAToday is quoting an NTSB investigator: The lights were flashing and bells were ringing before the truck started across the tracks.

The timeline was pieced together by combining information from a video camera mounted on the front of the train, another one that was on a sheriff's car and a data recorder that acts like an airplane's black box, activating when the train blared the horn, Rosekind said.
