Does anyone here shoot IPSC at TCGC?

I would like to try it this Sunday, 3 Jan. I'm wondering if I can just show up. I've never shot a pistol match before...

I won't be there this month but I shot and helped design a stage last month. I think with the weather this months match may be a little smaller/shorter. I have some videos of last month match on my YouTube page. Follow the link in my signature if you care to take a look.
This match is a great starter match! They are very inviting and hospitable at Tri-City. The match is fairly small so it is not uncommon to see somebody reshoot for a bad gun malfunction or shooting a stage different from the stage design. They only have one division so brung whatever caliber and sight system you feel most comfortable with. There were several 1911's, open guns, revolvers and stock plastic guns last month.

OSA member "[email protected]" is a member there at Tri-City. He shoots the match regularly and usually wins if Im not there LOL. He's a great guy so feel free to send him a PM with questions.

Thanks! I took 2nd place at that match and there are a handfull of shooters that are about the same level as I am out there. There are also several guys and gals that just shoot for fun. There is even on ole boy that runs the scoring and walks with a walker so you don't have much to be worried about. Learn the range commands and get comfortable then come join us at okgun club for the big match that's a lot of fun. Heck just come out to thebignatch at okcgc this Saturday. I won't be there this weekend but there will be a bunch of guys there that are more than willing to show you the ropes.

I just got word that Tri City's match is cancelled this weekend. I think due to impending weather, and snow drifts still out on thier IPSC range.

Bummer...but that sounds about right. I was out there today and there is still lots of snow on the range.

Burk, they don't shoot IDPA that I'm aware of it's an "IPSC style" match. They used to be sanctioned I believe but not anymore from what I'm told. I'm gonna try to shoot the next one.

The range is by Norman. It is just east of I-35 off the 1st exit south of the river (the casino exit).
