Unless changes are made or life events happen mid-year...it would be very hard to get it exactly right.

Doesn't really matter to me if it was easy - taking a man's earnings is wrong, period. There's nothing preventing those taxes from going up and up and up.....and the fella actually earning them has zero recourse, other than taking a cash job.
You don't need to get it exactly right, and you can actually set it to the point which you underpay a little bit and have to pay at tax time.

Whether or not taxes are withheld from paycheck has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not taxes go up, and up, and up. Taking a cash job and not paying taxes, however, is illegal and you can go to jail for that or pay fines if you are caught.

Really far too much grief to worry about such a minor thing in today's environment are real issues.

And by the way, it ain't going to change in your or my lifetime.

So in another thread you seem to advocate "just lying" to the police at checkpoints, why is that ok, but keeping your earnings is not?

Is it simply the threat of "jail or fines"?

Yes it is OK and if you can keep your earnings it's OK too. But try to find an employer in a real job that will let you do that. They won't. But keep crying about this minor baloney if it makes you feel better.

I didn't feel too good, but seeing you advocate for automatic theft and advocate for lying made me feel awesome. One has to make sure one is one the right side for sure, and your situational morality sure cheered me up.

Here, but occasionally There.
Personally, I think the citizenry having to pony up at tax time is a good idea in two ways...

...one, the citizens will soon realize how much they are "fleeced" each and every month...

...and two, the government would need to be more responsible with their "budgeting" (yes, I know that is laughable) because the tax revenue would only come in either quarterly or semi-annually, or annually.

A balanced-budget amendment would be nice as well.

Peter Schiff nailed it today:

“It's one thing to support Trump as the lesser of two evils. It's another to pretend he's not evil. If you want less government and more freedom, pretending that Trump is delivering on either goal is counterproductive. If we're not honest about what we want we'll never get it.”
