Now, its back up. What they're saying is that if you want to train a dog to find explosives you have to use explosives. Likely story. Why not use cake mix or boil-in -the bag rice? Are explosives really the only things that smell like explosives? Help me out here.

My granpa had a dog many years ago and this was before most of you young folks were even born. That one dog smelled everything and I mean everything. Bounce was his name and he had a very freindly disposition. What I wouldn't give for a dog like ole Bounce today. Is that a rabbit? He could smell it. Coons possums and coyotes, he could smell em all. Sumbitch could hear too, even in his dotage. You could unwrap a candy bar from the nexrt room , he could hear it and here he'd come. Good old Bounce. He'd work cattle too back when he was young.

Of course you young people on here don't remember the days back before the dogs were unionized. Now U.S. Gov and your savior Nobama, think we've gotta have a different dog for everthing. I'm not long for this world so it really don't matter much too me. Just sad is all.

I would think it works better having dogs trained for specific things. Like in SAR, you give them a specific persons scent to track, not just a "go find the person".

If you put him in the dryer would he make your clothes smell good?
