So a buddy of mine posted a thing on Facebook concerning the construction on the Broken Arrow Expressway and he made a good point:

At places along the BA, it is ten (10) lanes wide. Now they have it down to one (1) lane both east and westbound for two months. No prob, just find an alternate route, right?

75: Construction

What the @#$% is with the planning on all this? They have most every route bottle-necked with road construction of some sort.

I've avoided the BA altogether since I have absolutely zero patience for people who come blazing around on the left side and weasel their way in at the last possible moment while others have waited for several minutes to get through the construction zone.

They do it to annoy people and slow everyone down. I started taking side streets to work today just to avoid it. Why both directions are under construction boggles my mind. They only work on one side at a time if that.

Tulsa, Oklahoma is the road construction capitol of the free world. You can't go any direction w/o running into some. The BA expressway has been under construction, almost continuously, since it was first built 40+ years ago.

I'm sure it's all a matter of $. "We can get this much money if we start right now. No I am aware that we are stretched too thin as it is. All of our major highways & over half of our arterial streets are under construction. We have knocked this city back to the stone ages, but it's $$!! Just throw out some concrete barriers and some orange barrels. Papa needs a new Maserati."
I wish for once common sense would prevail. Don't start this job until the other jobs are done. There's no reason to tear up the entire town at the same time. Start a couple small ones, throw all the manpower we can at it. Finish it & move on to the next job.

It's been years since a person has been able to drive from one side of T-town to the other without seeing orange dunce hats lining the way.
