I do! Not because of cost, although I drive it every day, but because it is slowing down traffic NEEDLESLY!
I dont know why they are widening it but you can bet its not "needlessly". Maybe they are forecasting a lot more growth and traffic generators in the area and they are planning ahead for it.

I've been avoiding the BA but left downtown for home today a little after 6. Figured the BA wouldn't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. I simply don't have the patience for all those drivers who feel they are better than everyone else and choose to cut around the left side. I would implode if I drove that route during the construction any longer. I'll avoid it til they get it back to at least two lanes. The very notion of the BA being one lane for two months is ludicrous.

Some JA had the nerve to honk at me cause I wouldn't let him in after I waited 15 minutes to get the merge point and he sped right up to the front. Not to mention when I got to the construction area all the workers were gone!!! This was July 3rd @ 4:00pm.
I've tried just about every alternate route and have hit construction which knocks traffic down to 1 lane again! 244 Memorial to 169 1 lane, riverside to I 44 1/2 mile 1 lane, memorial @ 21st 1 lane, sheridan at BA backed up 1/2 mile to get on BA.

WHY IN THE HELL AREN'T THESE GUYS WORKING 24/7???? MAKES ZERO SENSE. WORK AT NIGHT WHEN IT'S COOL!
The ODOT guys need to be forced to drive this section everyday to and from work. Unbelievable incompetence here!

In the last few weeks on the BA construction I have seen a TPD, OHP, Tulsa County Sherrif stay in the left lane and pass the vehicles on the right right before the merge.

It's nice to have the BA west bound back open. Sure makes getting downtown in the morning easier. I've avoided east bound all summer but took it out of curiosity today. Never again until after the construction is done. I'd classify it as undriveable due to the overwhelming amount of complete assholes who decide they are better than everyone else and therefore can cut in line.

I'm done with that road until it's back open to full lane capacity. People are really disappointing.
