I was rockin some straight IBM gear and a fresh 300baud modem while you was still in nursery school. I'm an OG. Original Geek. LOL

But seriously, I think I actually may have had a 150baud modem to start. I was sure proud of my 1200 and 2400baud modems too when they came out. We null modemed a 9600 baud connection to some Kimtron dumb terminals running telnet, and then the 14,400 hit. It wasn't long then till the 28,800! Hot damn then came the 56k modems, and that was the top end.
Those were the horse and buggy days of the information highway.

Of course, you weren't anyone unless you had da' Dual ISDN Sucka!

Our first computer-based point-of-sale system back in '94 had an Everex tower server about 4' tall running a 486 mobo! I think that box alone cost $5000 back then. If a computer could have a mullet, that one was it.
