Heck, while we're at it let's look at the power changes in Iran during the 50's/70's. We didn't have anything to do with that either.

The US Military won every major conflict in Vietnam. We did not lose the war. The politicians gave up. Put the blame where it lies.

The US has a history of putting on the white gloves after our hands are already dirty. We support corrupt regimes when they benefit us and try to topple those that don't. This invariably results in some form of "limited warfare" where we're trying to "win hearts and minds" in a place we've already expressed our "regional interests" and failed. Iran, Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Grenada, Panama, Dominican Republic, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Lybia are some examples. More telling are the places we've definitively NOT intervened (Rwanda, etc.).

How the world views America can be dismissed as "jealousy" or "they hate us because of our freedom", but not effectively.

The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6% over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100%. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.
