I'm really glad I got it. I'm not a hunter or anything, I just really dig cool stuff and this thing definitely is that. Everyone that I've had over to shoot it hands it back to me with a big smile on their face. My only gripe about it is the price of the magazines (and the current price of the rifle itself).
If anybody is interested, I got an email from Centerfire saying the Vepr 54r is on sale for $899 with limited quantities. (Ammo was sub .20 cent/round at Sportsman's Guide last I checked)

Nice! Are those the single stack ten round mags? Do those have the scope rail? I love commie guns. I remember right after the AWB expired in 2004 Robinson arms was selling a galil looking folding stock for VEPR rifles. That would be cool on a short barreled rifle like that!
They do have a scope rail, yes.
centerfiresystems has dropped the price of the 23" barrel 7.62x54R rifles down to $780. Just sayin'
