Make sure you keep your gaskets. The one they sell at Locke only comes with 1 union I do believe. Also it may have a poly cap instead of the brass cap like the one you have in there but it should still fit at long as it is the same brand and size.

Hi,

I got a nice square cut around it so I can get in there with some tools. If it is a regulator and is adjustable, do I need to be concerned with setting the new one to any specific amount of regulation?

Thanks,

Alan

p.s. Forget using a plastic box cutter on drywall, the plastic busted to pieces around the razor. I finally found a metal one and made quick work of it with my most favorite tool from HF. Dang has this thing been useful over the year for $9

It comes preset at 50 PSI which is probably what the one in your house is set on now. If you want to adjust there should be instruction on how to do it but I typically leave them at factory setting.

Gilda Radner said that too, and it's the title of the book she wrote while she was terminally ill.

As to your water heater, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Mine died--started leaking into the catch pan that's under it, and since the house was built in I believe '94, there were some code issues that ran the estimate to about a grand. Plan B--bought a replacement at Home Depot and got my oldest son to help me replace it. That's been close to two years ago, and all is well.

As somebody else suggested, it's likely a faucet issue. Doesn't sound like a water heater.

Happy new year!

<edit> Didn't see your most recent post because I had this one in draft and got a phone call that ran long. I understand exactly what you are saying, because it reminds me of me when I was younger.

LOL ... it's cool ... I'm begging for a new washer and dryer too. GC's like "Uhmmmm, but they aren't broke ..." Problem is if they WERE broke he'd be saying "The laundry mat's just down the street there ..." The man HATES to spend money on the house ... :grumble: I'm fixing to fix that though -- he's getting a silencer and a 300 Blackout to put it on. That's good for several new appliances I think ... :wink2:

We went with a set of LG front loaders 1.5 years ago. It takes less time to dry a load in the high efficiency set than it does to wash one.

I had forgotten how sucky standard top loaders were until I moved into my apartment.

Thank god the wife took me back or I might have had a mental breakdown from doing laundry.

Ohhhhh ... see?!?! He also thinks I'm nuts because when I look at dishwashers I alway ask about the dB level. This is a really small house and the next dishwasher we have is gonna be QUIET!! I don't care if it costs a couple grand ... :grumble: GC says if I'd just go deaf like him (sorry, Perplexed -- no offense man!!) it wouldn't be a big deal and we could buy a cheap one ...

AND I want a 60 inch TV ... So I can see the football scores without having to put my glasses on! lol

I'm telling you guys -- THIS year we are spending money on the HOUSE and yard, not guns and ammo and cars ...
