I am voting no because it pegs our spending levels to a benchmark level determined by other states and because their is no source of funding, unfunded mandates will destroy district finances and budgets, we should not be constitutionally required to spend money because another state spends more.

thats a yep!

:soapbox:Vote yes if you care at all about education. I will be voting yes. Schools have been cutting and cutting and cutting and the cuts aren't matched by the other state funded institutions. The school I work at doesn't even have a janitor. But I saw 3 county workers watching 2 other county workers put a sign up yesterday. And the last time I got pulled over I found out apparently it takes 3 cars to write a warning. Schools should come first. Keep kids in school, you keep them out of jail, you save the state money.

And somebody stated that supts should take a pay cut? Anyone here a supt? Know what it's like to have to balance a budget that size, knowing you can't please everyone? Trying to do what's best for the kids, all the while parents and "church" groups are after your job? Why would they keep doing their jobs, especially in these hard times, if their getting a pay cut? They'd leave, go to texas or kansas or anywhere education is supported. My father is a supt and I've seen the things they go through. I've seen the toll it takes on a person, and these guys deserve every penny they make.

I dare you to offer evidence.

The school I work at doesn't even have a janitor. But I saw 3 county workers watching 2 other county workers put a sign up yesterday. And the last time I got pulled over I found out apparently it takes 3 cars to write a warning.

Apples to oranges. One is largely state-funded, the other county-funded.
